Paname is what Parisians call Paris, and those words hang over the bar.

The room is a Paris brasserie in Phuket colours: yellow walls, teal window frames, brown banquettes, marble-patterned tables and a black-and-white tiled floor, with bougainvillea and ferns overhead. Out front, a terrace of black-and-white woven bistro chairs sits under the greenery.

A brasserie menu that also speaks Thai. Steaks come on slate boards with frites, and there are croques and baguette sandwiches, pizzas, pasta and lasagna. The Thai classics run from tom yum and green curry to pad krapow with a fried egg. There is live Phuket lobster, and a few Russian dishes such as borscht and Olivier salad. Breakfast is served every day, and mango sticky rice is a favourite to finish.
