Captain Kook's is a beachfront restaurant on Bang Tao Beach. The tables stand right on the sand, under a long row of navy umbrellas with red and white flaps, and the bamboo chairs carry the name on their backs.

Come for lunch in the shade, or stay until the sun goes down over the bay. The menu is long: fish and shellfish, Thai soups, curries and noodles, papaya salads from Isan, steaks, pasta, burgers and desserts.
